Wu Zhiguang teaches student Lan Xinrong at an elementary school in Yongtai County, East China's Fujian Province, May 26, 2016. The school only has one teacher and a student now. With his parents divorced, the 8-year-old Lan lives with his sick and aging grandparents. He may go to study in a better school, but it’s about nine kilometers away and nobody can take him to and from school. Therefore the local authorities keep the school open although Lan is the only student. The teacher Wu, 57 years old, has been teaching for 35 years and he teaches Chinese, math, music and physical education to his only student Lan.
