Wan Yuhua looks at marks left by cupping at his clinic in Pujiang County, Chengdu City, the capital of Southwest China’s Sichuan Province. Wan, 59, learned traditional Chinese medicine and cupping from famed local doctor Xie Wantang. Wan said he opened his own clinic in 1986 and has since provided cupping therapy to more than 100,000 people over the past three decades. The ancient Chinese medicine practice uses suction cups to help improve blood flow in sore muscles. Wang said he boils water with some 20 types of herbs and use locally made bamboo tube, instead of a cup, in his own practice. (Photo/IC)
