A Tibetan multimedia play Common Home was staged at the National Center for Performing Arts in Beijing on August 16 by the Tibet Modern Drama Troup. Co-presented by the culture department of Tibet autonomous region and National Theater of China, the play tells a true story that took place in 1840s. Shortly after the First Opium War, 2,000 Tibetan soldiers rushed to the coastal city Ningbo more than 2,500 km away, to support the central government forces of the Qing Dynasty to fight against the invaders. They sacrificed themselves in defense of the common home. It was the first Tibetan modern drama to be staged at the National Center for Performing Arts.
