A series of activities, including folk operas, acrobatics and bullfights, were held to demonstrate Dong ethnic group customs during the festival. The name "Er Qiang Jiu" represents the 2,900 households of Dong people in Congjiang county when the festival was first held. It has now evolved into a big festival celebration with a strong flavor of regional culture, which helps promote local tourism.
