A 1.4-meter-long finless porpoise is found dead in Poyang Lake in Jiujiang, East China’s Jiangxi Province. Experts say dropping water levels in the lake during autumn and winter may cause the endangered mammal to be stranded and die. The animal may also suffer from fatal strike by boat propellers.
