Fang Wei, a 30-year-old villager who is dedicated to the preservation of ancient Great Wall poses for a photo in Xiakou village of Shandan county, northwest China’s Gansu province in December, 2016. Some 20 km of ancient wall built in Han Dynasty (206 BC-AD 220) and Ming Dynasty (1368-1644 AD) was found in the village. To protect the ancient building, Fang planted trees on 86.7 hectares of land along the ancient wall in the past six years. The old structure in the village is one of the best-preserved sections of the Great Wall in China. (Photo: China News Service/Yang Yanmin)
