Oldest large water conservancy projects discovered in Zhejiang

Photo taken on March 15, 2016 shows the excavation site of a large water project dating back about 5,000 years in Hangzhou, capital of east China's Zhejiang Province. Chinese archeologists have excavated 11 dikes, which are near the ancient city of Liangzhu that existed about 4,500 to 5,300 years ago in Yuhang District of today's Hangzhou. The finding is the oldest large water system ever found in China, which is believed to have combined functions of flood control, transportation and irrigation. (Photo/Xinhua)
