Railway policewoman Gao Weiting works on a train. For most, the upcoming Spring Festival holiday is a time for family reunions. But for Gao, it means the busiest time of her work year. She works on a train commuting between Hohhot in North China’s Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and Kunming in Southwest China’s Yunnan Province. A round trip takes six days to cover a distance of 6,100 kilometers. During "Chunyun" from Jan. 13 to Feb. 21, the hectic travel rush period surrounding the festival, Gao will make six round trips. Gao’s main duties on the trains are to secure safety, fire control and deal with other emergencies. She is also familiar with the use of all kinds of guns, and is able to dissemble and assemble a handgun in 15 seconds or shoot in just two seconds. A veteran policewoman with ten years' experience, she has assisted in cracking hundreds of cases and detained more than 100 suspects. (Photo/CFP)
