This photo taken on Jan. 17, 2017 shows more than 30 monks and lay Buddhists clearing cigarette butts from the Gu Guanyin Zen Buddhist Temple in Xi’an City, capital of Northwest China’s Shaanxi Province, in an event to promote safety ahead of the Spring Festival. The temple is famous for its 1,400-year-old gingko tree, thought to be planted during the Tang Dynasty (618-907), and attracts tens of thousands of visitors every day.
