The National Art Museum of China received a significant donation of Western modern art two decades ago.
It contained 117 works by 87 artists, including four by Pablo Picasso and one by Andy Warhol.
The works were from the private collections of German industrialists and art patrons, such as the couple Irene and Peter Ludwig.
The museum is now holding an exhibition titled Eternal Warmth, which displays paintings from the contribution, representing various modernist movements in Europe and the United States. The artists featured also include David Hockney, Gerhard Richter and Roy Lichtenstein. The show will run through March 9.
