Children living in poverty-stricken mountainous region in Guangxi have witnessed their lives turn brand new in the past seven years, with their basic needs for life and school satisfied thanks to poverty alleviation efforts of local government. Smooth rural highways and nutritious school lunch have become new memories of childhood. The total poor population in Guangxi dropped to 3.41 million in 2016 from 10.12 million in 2010.
