In 1992, Cangzhou was officially listed among the first group of hometowns of martial arts, and Cangzhou kung fu was added to the national and provincial intangible cultural heritage lists in 2006. There are a total of 50 strikes in Cangzhou martial arts, which account for about 40 percent of the 129 practiced nationwide. Of 1,803 local middle and primary schools in the city, 1,291 schools have carried out martial arts teaching activities, and the penetration rate of martial arts has reached 72 percent. Wushu has become an important medium and platform for the promotion and communication of Cangzhou city.
