Wang Louping from Zhejiang Province runs a Chinese restaurant in Morocco offering ordinary Sichuan cuisine like boiled fish, chili and sour potatoes and Ma Po bean curd. He said he has increased his income 10 times the level of his work in China. Wang, who in his thirties, was one of the first to work in the African country when there were only about 3,000 Chinese at the beginning and fewer than 1,000 visitors a year. After Morocco offered free visas for Chinese citizens in 2016, the number of Chinese visitors grew by six-fold in half a year. Wang opened his restaurant named Great Wall in January decorated in the style of Chinese culture. He uses seasonings mainly imported from China and purchases vegetables from the local market. His monthly profits now reach up to 100,000 yuan ($15,300). Most customers are Chinese tourists, as the price can be somewhat expensive for locals. Wang also said as the two countries boost bilateral ties more locals have an interest in learning Chinese. (Photo/China News Service)
