Poverty alleviation
Since the 18th CPC National Congress, President Xi Jinping has traveled across China, with more than half of his official visits related to poverty alleviation and development.[Special coverage]
People's living standards have been improved. The number of people living in poverty in rural areas was reduced by 12.4 million in 2016, including more than 2.4 million people relocated from inhospitable areas. More than 10 million rural residents are estimated to escape poverty in 2017.
