An old-fashioned method for making payments that uses a steel wire has reemerged at a shopping mall in Shanghai. In the 1950s and 1960s, some stores and restaurants in China hung steel wire in the air, using it to slide the bill and money between the counter and cashier's desk to save customers the trouble of going back and forth. The shopping mall in Shanghai says it revived the outdated payment technique mainly to assist elderly customers. (Photo/VCG)
