The Society of German Nature Photographers has presented award-winning images in the competition ‘European Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2017’. Unprecedented in the competition's history, two overall winners have been awarded: Britta Jaschinski's haunting image ‘Confiscated’ shows two elephant feet reduced to stools, while the protagonists in Erlend Haarberg's image ‘Snow Spat’ are two mountain hares fighting in the dark. The competition is divided into nine categories.
