Tools used to make chisel paper according to patterns are on display in Pengfang Village, Changting County, East China's Fujian Province. The village is famous for elaborate lanterns that are made with chiseled paper-cuts and bamboo strips and then arranged in the shape of a dragon to mark the festival on the 15th day of the lunar January, a tradition dating back 300 years. Peng Jingzhou was said to have created the craft during the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) by combining the local paper-cut art with Hakkas culture. (Photo: China News Service/Zhang Bin)
