Yin Yulin is from Hedong Village in Yuxian County, North China’s Shanxi Province. She was caught and raped by Japanese soldiers in 1942, when she was just 19. With the help of volunteers, she wrote a letter to former Japanese prime minster Yukio Hatoyama in March 2010 but never received a reply. Yin died on Oct. 12, 2012 at the age of 90.
