HK media mogul Shaw donates large sum for education development (3/10)

Photo taken on June 15, 1996 shows a ceremony celebrating the 90th anniversary of the university at the gymnasium named after Hong Kong media mogul and philanthropist Run Run Shaw at Ji'nan University in Guangzhou, capital of south China's Guangdong province. Shaw, aged 107, passed away at home in Hong Kong, south China, on Jan 7, 2014. Shaw was enthusiastic for charity and donated more than 10 billion Hong Kong dollars (about 1.29 billion U.S. dollars) to the Chinese mainland, with a large sum for the development of its education.
